Virgin Hair Extensions are The Best Type of Hair for Dyeing

Virgin Hair Extensions

Usually, we can do anything with Human Hair Extensions that you can do to your natural hair. This includes dyeing, cutting, heat styling and chemically processing your human hair. Many weave wearers dye hair extensions to get an exact match to their natural hair color. It’s very effective and turns out beautiful! But please remember, all above things are base on natural hair, what about bleached hair?

Do keep in mind that Virgin Hair Extensions are the best type of weaves for dyeing your hair. Virgin Remy hair extensions have not been chemically processed in any way, so they can be dyed without causing hardly any damage to your hair.

Experts advise that we should not attempt to dye non-Remy hair extensions.T his kind of hair extensions have been chemically treated, which strips the strands to their weakest. They are generally not strong enough to be dyed.

Blecached Hair Can be Dyed too, But not Suggested

Previously bleached hair is missing important proteins and molecules to keep the Strand strong, blonde hair color has a high ammonia content which could cause bleached hair to melt or break if not used with the right developer mixture. If you are trying to change the color of your blonde using a toner is a better option with a lower developer strength. This is something that a professional cosmetologist should be helping you with and not something you should be doing at home.

Do Not Use Box Dye for Bleached Hair Dyeing

Of course you can put blonde hair dye on bleached hair. It’s a matter of how damaged your hair already is. So ask yourself some questions before grabbing the dye. Are you buying box dye or mixing your own?

While Box Dye is quite a bit cheaper if you are doing this, it might melt your hair extensions.

If you are using a box kit, it will have a high lift developer in it. This will fry your hair more, as it is the same type of developer most use for bleaching their hair. Most Box kits also say to NOT use them on bleached hair which will be written on the directions. They are not formulated for use on bleached hair. It could fry or melt your hair, resulting in a bad color, and a short haircut. I would avoid a box kit like the plague in this situation.

The professional salon or beauty supply store, it would depend on the type of blonde dye you are looking for and the shape your bleached hair is currently in. A direct dye or a semi-permanent one may work, though the color may not last as long as a permanent dye. If the salon do not offer you that, you would need to see if the store you go to carries a blonde dye for use on bleached hair, you will want to avoid developer to try to prevent further damage.

Bleached hair reacts differently to dye than virgin or natural color hair. It can be more damaged, depending on how it was bleached, what products were used, and how often it has been bleached. If it has been bleached too much or is too fried from bleaching, it may not take the dye.

Dyeing Hair in Salon or Consulting Your Hair Stylist

Of course, your best option is to have a consultation with a licensed, well-trained colorist to discuss both your hair’s condition and the end result you are hoping to achieve. Even if you don’t have the colorist do the dyeing, you will have a better idea of whether or not your hair is healthy enough to handle another process. Be honest with the colorist during your consultation, since your honesty can get you the best answers. A good consultation is cheaper than color correction from a bad DIY home dye job.

Virgin Remy Hair Extensions can be dyed into all kinds of color, so it can be dyed easily and do little harm to the hair. However, when human hair extensions are dyed from a darker color to a lighter color the hair often becomes damaged somehow. To avoid this, always dye the hair from a lighter color to a darker color. Make sure the hair extensions you want to recolor is of natural color or processed hair being dyed from a darker color to a lighter color.

Dyeing Hair Colors from Light to Darker

If a supplier does not have the exact color you are after, then purchase the set that is one or two shades lighter than your present hair tone and dye the extensions to match that darker shade. This will result in less stripping to the hair follicle and lead to much better results. The other option is purchase the virgin remy hair and dye it into what you want. You can do anything with human hair extensions that you can do to your natural hair. This includes dyeing, cutting, heat styling and chemically processing your human hair.

Test a Strand of Hair First

No matter what kind of hair extensions you are using for dyeing. Remember that: do a strand test first. Even though you can dye your hair extensions, you should first test to see how they will handle the coloring process. Mix the dye as directed, then apply to one small strand or section of the hair. Take note of the end result before continuing to dye the rest of your hair.

How to Care For African American Hair

How to Care For African American Hair

Chic African American Hairstyle 2017

Chic African American Hairstyle 2017

African American Hair ranges from slightly wavy to extremely curly, and maybe caused by the heredity, it usually tend to be drier and curlier than Caucasian or Asian hair. African American hair is easy to be kinky, tangled, which is especially fragile and prone to injury and damage. African American hair tends to be brittle and prone to breakage if not cared for properly. Lots of African American women are concerning about their fine hair or hair loss and put the caring the hair as one of their daily work. So, there are lots of measurement to care for the African American hair nowadays, here, let’s talk about some efficiency tips on caring for African American hair.

1. Moisturize Is The Key, Wash Hair Once a Week

Moisturize Is The Key, Wash Hair Once a Week
Moisturize Is The Key, Wash Hair Once a Week

All hair needs moisture from water. African American hair needs to be fully replenished and exposed to water at a minimum of once a week (and often washing more often than this strips protective oils, leaving the hair open to environmental drying- this is why it’s not often recommended to just wash it daily. This will help prevent build-up of hair care products, which can be drying to the hair. African hair does not often get overly oily like Caucasian or Asian hair does when it is not washed for several days.

African hair tends to be naturally dry with minimal oil, which is why it isn’t necessary to use shampoo more than once a week. Shampooing your hair several times a day or even every day strips the oil that the hair needs from the hair shaft so that it becomes drier, frizzier and more prone to breaking. Use the hydrating shampoos but not the clarifying, because the clarifying shampoo are the worst for African American hair.

2. Use Conditioner Every Time You Wash Your Hair

African American hair tends to be dry, it’s essential to use conditioner every time you shampoo your hair to restore moisture. When you condition, be sure to coat the ends of the hair with conditioner, as the ends are the oldest and most fragile part of your hair and keep the conditioner in your hair for a few minutes before washing it out.

3. Hold The Moisture In

mixture of shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil
Hold The Moisture In

After you finish washing your hair, the hair needs help to keep all that moisture in. Adding a generous amount of mixture of shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil in or other fatty product applied to the strands from tip to root to lock that moisture in, which keeps the hair pliant. Protect the hair from wind and extreme temperatures with silky coverings.

3. Co-washing the Hair if Your Exercise Regularly

Co-washing the Hair if Your Exercise Regularly
Co-washing the Hair if Your Exercise Regularly

Co-washing is short for “conditioner-only washing”. It means skipping shampoo and relying solely on conditioner. If you love to jogging or exercise regularly which will bring you sweat, then you may need to cleanse your hair more often than once a week to remove the sweat. Instead of using shampoo, co-wash with conditioner in between your weekly cleanses. Hair conditioner will gently cleanse away sweat or other buildup while keeping the healthy oils in your hair.

5. Use a Leave In Moisturizer Daily

Using a leave in conditioner or moisturizer on days that you don’t wash or condition your hair ensures that your hair stays hydrated so that it looks good and is protected from damage. Use a light leave-in moisturizer formulated for African American hair at the beginning of the day before styling your hair.

Try to find a moisturizer that contains essential oils, which are absorbed into the hair and moisturize. Avoid products containing lanolin or other greasy ingredients that sit on the surface of the hair and weigh it down.

Spritz your hair with water, then apply the moisturizer, or find a moisturizer than can be used on dry hair. Use the moisturizer on all of your hair, but pay special attention to the tips of your hair, which are the oldest and driest.

 6. Use a Hot Oil Treatment Your Hair Bimonthly

Use a Hot Oil Treatment Your Hair Bimonthly

In addition to your regular maintenance of your hair, doing a monthly or bimonthly deep conditioning treatment will adds additional moisture and elasticity to your hair, making it more moisturized and less brittle.

 7. Protect the Hair

African American is fragile. So, the hair has to be protected from tangling, knotting (single strand knots) breakage and snapping. Use the comb with the widest-possible tooth, and make sure it doesn’t have sharp edges that will saw at non-straightened strands. This means be leery of elastics and rubber bands, combs and brushes, ribbons, pillow cases, towels, shirts and jacket collars (people rarely think about those last, but they matter).

We should also save non-protective styles for special occasions. Style the hair to tuck the ends, avoid free strands and brushing or scraping on collars and pillows and drying materials, and in such a way that it doesn’t have to be styled every day.

8. Detangle And Comb The African Hair Only When Fully Moisturized

Detangle And Comb The African Hair Only When Fully Moisturized
Detangle And Comb The African Hair Only When Fully Moisturized

Sometimes fingers are the best tools, use fingers to manipulate the African hair after an initial detangling. Or use the widest-toothed comb possible, and detangle from end toward the root, never yank abruptly. Make sure that hair is fully dampened when being styled.

Detangle and separate the hair section by section, and rub each one individually, braid or separate it again after rinsing it, then go to the next part. The less the hair has a chance to rub against each other, the less chance strands will tangle and thus get snapped when trying to separate them.

9. Heat Gently And Infrequently

It’s recommended to wear the hair as close to the natural texture as possible to prevent having to stretch it and giving more opportunities for snapping. But if you need to blow dry, flat iron, or straighten the hair, use the lowest temperature possible for the job. Only use heat on clean hair that has a protective product applied. Use a heat protecting product before styling.

10. Keep a Well Nourished Wholesome Diet and Good Mood Everyday

Make sure your body is well nourished with wholesome diet of your choice, with plenty of water, get sufficient rest, and seek the lowest level of stress in your life.

Open your mind to the many possibilities of African American hair. Have a good mood everyday. Everything will work a little differently for everyone. You hope for good, good will follow you. Enjoy the beauty of the African American hair spectrum.

5. Strategy According to Your Hair

Hair is consisted of protein, so it will be easier to detangle the hair for adding some water in normal case. However, to those women with natural hair, then wok on dry hair with the fingers first will be better. When water didn’t work, try to put some coconut oil on the fingers and detangle the knot first, or use hair conditioner on dry textured hair.

Tangles happen. And when they do, you should be armed with a hair conditioner, a wide-tooth comb, and tons of patience, of course, your patience too.

Because of the cotton material will absorbs all the moisture, leaving you dry and frizzy the next morning. While the silk or stain pillowcase will maintain the oil nourishing your hair.

Pineapple your hair into a high ponytail and tie a protective silk scarf around your pony to help your curls retain even more moisture. That would be better to fight tangles away from your hair. By the way, take off your Clip in Hair Extensions before going to bed, so that it won’t hurt your natural hair nor the hair extensions.

Hair Tutorial–How To Braid Your Layered Hair

It is possible that you once encountered the situation where you found it difficult to copy your desired hair look because you have layers, especially when braids are the styles that you want. When braiding your layered hair, you may find that some strands keep poking out, making the braid irregularly messy.

The three tips below may be of assistance when it comes to settling this matter.

How To Braid Your Layered Hair

  • Select styles suitable for layered hair.

It is highly suggested that you start braiding your hair from the position above your shortest layer in your hair. Your shortest layer can stick to your braid well if it can reach the plait.

For those who have many layers in hair, fishtail braids may be fantastic. Personally speaking, fishtail braids look pretty even being a little messy. Thus, it doesn’t matter to me if there is a few ends poking out of my braids. But for a Dutch braid or French braid, a neat finish is better.

  • Curl your hair ends before braiding

What if your straight layers keep poking straight out? Curl them into your hairstyle.

Curl the ends of your hair before braiding or styling any updos can make the styles more stunning. By means of curling, you can have layers that blend into your braids rather than poking out.

Curl the ends of your hair using a curling wand or styler. A hairdryer and a small, round brush can be also effective if you can not find a curling wand or styler.

How-to-braid-with-layers-in-your-hair 2

  • Manage your hairstyle using hairspray and bobby pins.

If you have layered hair, and you are going to braid your hair, you must need hairspray and even bobby pins if you want to tidy it up, because there are always a few ends poking out of your braids.

To tidy up your hair look, firstly you can stretch your braid gently and then tuck loose ends in. After that, apply a little hairspray to hold the loose ends in place.

In case that hairspray is not effective enough to hold all the loose ends, take a bobby pins and hook the ends into the pin. To hide the pin, push it in along the length of your braid.

How do you think of these three tips? Or do you have other wonderful ideas?
